The Sacrament of Reconciliation

Reconciliation/Penance is the sacrament by which sins committed after Baptism are forgiven through the absolution of a Priest.  The Priest has the power to forgive sins from Jesus Christ, who said to His apostles and to their successors in the priesthood: “Receive the Holy Ghost; whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.” (John 20:22-23)

At the request of a Penitent, Confessions can be heard at any reasonable time. If the Penitent is home bound, a Priest will visit the home. Please, call the Parish Office, or speak with a Priest after Mass.

Confessions are regularly scheduled to be heard in the church on Saturday evenings from 4:30-5:15 in the church.

Penance services with individual confessions are also offered throughout Advent, Lent and during our Parish Mission. Check the bulletin for specific dates.

Everyone is encouraged to take advantage of this sacrament.

The confessionals in the church give the Penitent an option of confessing anonymously from behind a screen, or face-to-face.
